The Illinois Employment and Training Center (IETC) offices are much more than a place to register for unemployment. They house the tools, resources and connections that can boost a job search. The dedication and enthusiasm of the professionals at this office provide confidence and hope to all job seekers. They really want to see everyone succeed.
The IETC is designed to be a one-stop center to help with all aspects of finding a job, including training and education, labor market information, outplacement services, career skills assessment and improvement. Think of them as the center of a network of books, workshops, training videos, professionals, and private partner agencies, all accessible from the IETC office. For example, these are some of the services that are available:
Staff are available to help plan the job search, develop resumes and cover letters and improve interviewing skills. They maintain banks of computers, printers, faxes, copiers, videos, and reference books for everyone's use. Another mission of the IETC is to provide seamless access to other services and organizations that can help. Some of these are private and some are government units. For example:
Another important thing to know is that employers come to the IETC almost every day to find workers. In North Aurora, the weekly schedule is posted on their website at: http://www.ides.state.il.us/ietc/northaurora/. This schedule also lists the week's workshops and training events.
